Is it o.k. to let newborn sleep in play-yard bassinet rather than a crib for the first few months?

My husband & I bought a play-yard with a built-in bassinet. We decided not to buy an actual bassinet since this one has one already. We have a crib but we were gonna wait to set that up because our place is so tiny.

Yes, it is fine as long as there are no heavy blankets, stuffed animals, pillows or anything else that the baby can suffocate on.
Both my kids slept in pack n plays til they were in a toddler bed.

Of course, when they get old enough to hold their heads up or roll over one way, the bassinet should be taken out because they can fall out. After that, they can sleep in the play-yard or a crib.
